Tension Control Bolts (TC Bolts)
Tension control bolts — also called torque shear bolts — have a splined extension at the end that shears off at exactly the right torque. The installer simply runs the nut down with an electric TC wrench until the spline snaps, guaranteeing the correct preload every time with no torque wrench and no operator judgement. This makes them the fastest and most reliable structural bolt for high-volume steel erection.
