Hollow Wall Anchors (Cavity Anchors) – Zinc Plated
These zinc plated metal hollow wall anchors (cavity anchors) are designed for firm fixing into hollow walls, plasterboard and hollow brick. As the screw is tightened the anchor legs expand behind the board, spreading the load over a wide area to give a strong, secure hold where conventional plugs would pull out.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a hollow wall anchor and when do I need one?
A hollow (cavity) anchor is a metal fixing that expands behind a hollow board — plasterboard, hollow brick or hollow-core panels. When the wall behind the surface is empty, ordinary plugs have nothing to grip; a cavity anchor folds out behind the board and spreads the load.
How do hollow wall anchors work?
The anchor is inserted through the drilled hole. As the screw is tightened, the anchor body collapses and its legs fold out behind the board like an umbrella, bracing against the back face. The board is then clamped between the expanded legs and the fixture.
Do the anchors come with screws?
Yes — these cavity anchors are supplied with matching screws, so you get a complete ready-to-install fixing.
What loads can hollow wall anchors hold?
Holding power depends on the board type and thickness. They are intended for light to medium loads such as shelves, brackets and TVs. For heavy loads into plasterboard, spread the load across multiple anchors or use a specialist heavy-duty cavity fixing.
